Collaborative Process Modeling

The aim of process modeling is to collect the requirements of a construction process by specifying i)the tasks to be executed; ii) the locations where they need to be executed; iii) the resources needed; iv) the productivity; v) possible temporal dependencies among them.

Outcomes of the project will be a framework, methodology and tool to support a collaborative process modeling (i.e. involving the main actors taking part to the project).

Short-Term Schedule

A process schedule should be i) defined over a short-term temporal window (daily/week); ii) must consider resources actually available on-site; iii) based on up-to-date data on the progress of the work on site.

The project aims at developing suitable methodology and a SW prototype to support a detailed, short-term schedule. Both aspect will be integrated with the modeling module (e.g., to check dependency satisfaction, to determine needed resources for a task).

Real-Time Monitoring

The monitoring module is integrated with the modeling and the scheduling one. Specifically, i) scheduling is performed based on current information of the overall work progress; and ii)information on the expected progress in the model is updated according to real conditions on site.

An outcome of the project will be a methodology to ensure that the progress is measured coherently for the different tasks, and a SW prototype for supporting the monitoring of the progress on-site (using mobile devices). The system will elaborate the data and present statistical information, highlighting potential problems or source of delay.
